External Account Transfer

Your online banking app allows you to add accounts from other institutions, moving money between PrimeTrust and your other financial institutions.

We make sure it is easy to create and edit transfers, but behind the scenes things are a little more complex. But don’t worry! We have all the details you need.
 

how it works

  • All micro-deposits include the term ACCTVERIFY in the Company Entry description.

    When a user adds a new external transfer account, the app prompts you to validate two deposits of a random value under one dollar to the account selected. Users simply need to enter the amounts of the micro-deposits by selecting the external transfer account again, and you will be able to use it immediately. It is simple to use and easy to set up.

  1. At the top lefthand corner there are three lines: Select Transfer
  2. Select Transfer to another institution by adding an external transfer account.
  3. Select: Add an external account. You will need to enter your PTF credentials again for verification, Click Submit
  4. Transfer Set-up: enter Account name, Routing #, Account #, Account type.
  5. A confirmation screen will inform you that two micro-deposits have been sent to the external account that you set up.
  6. External accounts will need to be verified, to ensure the user is authorized to make transfers to and from the external account. Two micro-deposits, between $0.01 and $0.99, are transferred from your institution’s micro-deposit account to the selected external transfer account. It may take 1-3 days to see these funds posted.
  7. After following the path above and seeing those micro deposits posted, you can select account you have added in your online banking, enter the amounts of the two micro-deposits to confirm verification. You will be notified immediately if the verification is successful.
  8. Once this is verified you can start to set up transferring immediately. Once the transfer has been initiated, it may take up to 1-5 business days to process depending on your external financial institution.

Can a user add the same external transfer account more than once?

No. If the account verification was not successful and you are attempting to set up the same account again you will need to remove the old, failed account prior to re-adding it. Multiple attempts to add the same account will fail if you do not follow this process.

 

How many times can I have an unsuccessful account verification resulting in a failed attempt to add an external account?

There are 3 maximum number of attempts a user can make to verify a new external transfer account before the account become locked out. Please be sure to verify that you are entering the correct account information.

 

Is there a maximum number of accounts an end user can enroll for external transfers?

Yes, an end user can enroll a maximum of 25 external accounts.

 

What if I forget to enter in my micro deposit to complete set up?

If a set of micro deposits expires before successful verification, your online banking will show that the set has expired, at which point the user can submit a new set of micro deposits to reset the account and allow continued verification attempts.

 

Can we send a reminder to an end user who has not verified their micro-deposits?

 For security purposes, we cannot send a user a reminder to verify their account.

 

Can external transfers be cancelled?

The user can cancel any transfers that have not been processed yet from the app. Once the transaction has been processed and completed, you will not be able to cancel it.

 

Can PrimeTrust see why my external account was not verified successfully?

PrimeTrust does not have any access to your external account. Please reach out to your external account holder directly to verify you are entering the correct account information and to verify you can access this account for transfers.

 

Can PrimeTrust set up my external account for me and perform transfers?

PrimeTrust can assist you with directions but cannot set up nor perform transfers on your behalf using this process.

 

Who can add external accounts and do transfers?
