The Credit Union Card Center has been monitoring a phishing scam spreading through Indiana. There have been multiple credit union members receiving phishing calls on their cell and land line phones. Additional reports have come from Indianapolis, Grant County, Howard County and Kosciusko County. Individuals are reporting automated calls telling the recipient that their card has been "blocked." The calls request the recipient's card number and other personal information. Caller ID for Grant County recipients has shown either "Unknown" or as 214-414-1037, which is a number owned by Verizon but which cannot receive incoming calls.
PrimeTrust will NOT call and ask you for your card number, we may verify the last four digits, but never the entire card number. If you think a call is NOT from your Credit Union, ask the caller for their name, then hang-up, and call PrimeTrust at 765-289-2148 and ask for the person.
If you plan to travel within the United States for spring break or summer vacation, PrimeTrust can put a travel note on your Visa® credit and/or debit card to help avoid interruption in your card service.
